R.I.T. seeks candidates for Head of the School of Chemistry and Materials Science

Rochester Institute of Technology School of Chemistry and Materials Science (SCMS) invites applications and nominations for the position of Professor and School Head. The successful candidate is expected to have a distinguished record of teaching and research, be a person of national and international academic stature, and come to this position with leadership experience. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of a tenured professor. As the chief academic, fiscal, and administrative officer of the School, the Head will be a role model for scholarship and academic excellence and will provide leadership, advocacy, oversight, and management. The School is looking to create and implement a strategic plan that will facilitate the development of Ph.D. programs.

SCMS consists of 24 full-time faculty members, and 4 full-time staff members. It houses BS programs in Biochemistry and Chemistry, and MS programs in Chemistry and in Materials Science and Engineering. There are approximately 125 undergraduate students and 52 graduate students.
